We‘d been drinking bourbon straight all week on our bourbon trail vacation in Tennessee, but we felt long overdue for a great craft cocktail. I know first world problems, but luckily we were in Nashville which is blowing up with new, incredible bars. Tonight it was the speakeasy-inspired Patterson House.

Located on the corner of Division and 18th Ave. S., you step behind a velvet curtain to a dimly lit, 30-seat bar with vest-adorned bartenders ready to pour the liquid gold of your choosing. And if you don’t know what you want the liquid of their choosing and crafting. They use many fresh ingredients; syrups, fruit and herbs and some of the best spirits money can buy. They work with Gin, various Whiskeys, and Agave-based spirits. They also make bitters-based cocktails or as they call them, potable bitters. These were a touch smaller but packed a ton of flavor and were always spirit forward and well balanced.
