Sugar Rush, a cupcake extravaganza, will be held January 29, 2011 from 11am-3pm at Piecemakers Country Store in Costa Mesa.

The Sugar Rush will host a cupcake competition with three different categories; Best Taste, Best Design and People’s Choice. There will be first, second and third place winners for Best Taste and Best Design categories and one winner for People’s Choice. First place winners will receive a framed certificate and ad space on Piecemakers website and in their quarterly schedule for one month. Second and third place winners will receive goody bags worth up to $50.00.

Kim and I, along with Elise Wallace (The Cupcake Activist: http://www.cupcakeactivist.com/) and John Jennison (a cake artist and member of the Sweet Arts of Orange County Cake Club http://sweetartscakeclub.com), will be judging the competition.

In addition to the cupcake competition, there will be music, misc. vendors and activities for children and adults, along with gourmet food trucks Kogi BBQ (@KogiBBQ) and The Burnt Truck (@TheBurntTruck), cupcakes and other sweets for sale.

You will also have the opportunity to donate to Orangewood Children’s Foundation. You will receive 4 tickets for every $5.00 donated to Orangewood Children’s Foundation and each ticket will represent one mini cupcake from a booth of your choice.

Admission is a $5 donation to Orangewood Children’s Foundation, which provides you 4 tickets redeemable at the cupcake vendor of your choice. Each ticket is good for one mini cupcake.

We look forward to seeing you for a fun-filled event benefiting a great cause.
