When we took a second foodie trip to Portland, on the top of my “must-do” list was Teardrop Cocktail Lounge. Located in the Pearl District, it is a hip but dimly lit lounge with concrete walls and gray velvet curtains. The large bar is situated in the center of the room allowing many patrons to sit and watch the bartenders work. They take the art of cocktails very seriously, crafting each drink with great care and attention to detail. Watching them work while anxiously awaiting their crafty concoctions only added to the experience.

Teardrop changes their menu seasonally and makes their drinks with freshest, local ingredients. They provide an extensive menu of their creations for you to choose from and it includes a glossary of terms so you know what the flavors of the various ingredients used in your drink are. I’m sure you could order a gin and tonic…but why would you want to? They also offer beer, wine and an incredible menu which we only were able to try one item thanks to the many foodie destinations still to visit.
